Trigger | Multiple identities under one roof
Since 1894, the Stadsschouwburg at Leidseplein has been a staple in Amsterdam. A monumental building where theater is created, performed, and experienced. Since 2018, both the building and the theater company are named International Theater Amsterdam. For visitors, those worlds have become increasingly intertwined. With international productions, original performances, festivals, and horeca, the brand is becoming even more comprehensive. How do you turn all those different components into one recognizable cultural brand without losing their unique characters?

One platform for a brand with many faces
The collaboration between International Theater Amsterdam and The Cre8ion Lab shows how we build a complete digital platform from a clear brand architecture. Meanwhile, we continue to develop the cultural brand with campaigns and sub-brands.
Solution | From house style to platform
The challenge was broader than just a new website or identity. The Stadsschouwburg became the home where the theater company resides and performs. That brand architecture was our starting point for a new digital foundation. A process in which we worked intensively with the team of International Theater Amsterdam and Studio Dumbar, responsible for the visual identity. The Cre8ion Lab translated that new house style into a platform where the brand, the program, and the audience journey come together. Within a system that was developed collaboratively from the beginning. One digital environment for the house, the inhabitants, programming, and horeca.
Result | A cultural brand that can continue to move
The result is a digital environment that constantly evolves. Performances become stories, campaigns have room to sharpen the brand, and different sub-labels can take on their own identity without disappearing from the same world. The website remains clear for visitors, scalable for the organization, and is built on a foundation that allows International Theater Amsterdam, the Stadsschouwburg, and sub-labels like The Bookshop and Brandhaarden to tell their own stories.
Operationally, the platform is prepared for everything. Accessibility, discoverability for new search technologies, and integrations with Tixly, Prompt, and Deployteq ensure that International Theater Amsterdam not only tells a beautiful story but also operationally realizes it.
